An abbreviated list of items Max has lost:
- Twenty-one out of 42 pages of math homework.
- Progress report: Disappeared as he walked from the classroom to his mother, waiting outside the school.
- Lunch bag: Found in the trash.
- Seven quarters: Left on the couch five minutes after receiving it. Later discovered in his brother’s piggy bank.
- His family: Located three aisles over at the grocery store.
- An undetermined number of Lego pieces to the kits “Indiana Jones Motorcycle Chase,” “Street Sweeper” and “Coast Guard 4WD and Jet Scooter.”
- Seven passwords to the computer game Poptropica.
Why does he lose things? “I don’t know. They just disappear. They just get away from me so quickly.”
The most valued item he has lost: The toy plastic missile he shot up the chimney.
A book he’s lost: Spiderman. “I was sad and mad, but then I found it. Now I’ve memorized most of it, so it doesn’t matter.”
Other book’s he’s trying to memorize:
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan.
- “The Magic School Bus Kicks Up a Storm” by Nancy White.
- A joke book.
Max is a forward thinker. He can’t be held back by having to remember stuff like passwords, legos, and money.
I am quite impressed with the 21 pages of math lost!
